I must admit I was not too terribly excited when I heard that VH-1 was doing a Rock Honor for The Who. After all those channels cater to the teen or post teen wishing they were a teen age group. I was an on and off follower of The Who growing up. The only reason for that my brother was an avid fan and I did not want to like ANYTHING he liked. Hey, I was a kid. Around 9:30 last night the hubs and I were channel surfing and saw a peek of the tribute show. The band on stage was Incubus. I do enjoy listening to all of the bands that performed such as The Flaming Lips, Foo Fighters, and Pearl Jam to name a few. I must say if you can get past all of the advertising and crap the show was great! I loved all of the performers, loved the tributes, and the performance from The Who was amazing. I had missed the Foo Fighters since they were the first act, but the rest of it was great. I am sure it will be on again and again and again and again since it is that type of channel, but watching it last night was awesome. Despite the over 60 age of the The Who it was impressive. Nothing can replace the windmill from Pete Townsend. Nothing. If you get a chance to see it do so, I am going to invest in the soundtrack since the performances were that great. I know die hard fans will say nothing can replace the original, but like I said I am more of an Incubus, Flaming Lips fan.
Enjoy Life!

Two weeks ago in the early morning, VH1 was showing the Story of the Who DVD. It made a long session on the stairclimber at the gym seem like a snap. I have always loved the Who (have Quadrophenia and Tommy on vinyl and CD and also had 'em on 8-track AND cassette). "Baba O'Reilly" was my teenage anthem...until I discovered the Ramones, anyway.
Would the windmill help the kidney stones?
